Ridiculous rates to ride Trax (and John Schmidt Christmas concert!!)

My cousin called me a few months ago and asked if I wanted to go to the John Schmidt Christmas concert. She said that her and her friend Mary, and then some of their other friends were going to go. One of my friends said that she wanted to go too, so we bought the tickets. Well...my friend found out she had a conflict and couldn't go, and then 2 of the other girls ended up bailing out on us too. This felt very similar to our half marathon experience where we had a lot of people pumped about running with us, and when it came down to it, it was just the 3 of us. Oh well...sometimes things turn out ok! I invited Matt, and Mary invited a guy she knew and he brought his friend. My cousin and Mary stayed the night at the Kimball -- my cousin's family has a time share there -- so we made dinner and then went to the concert. We decided to ride Trax instead of trying to find somewhere to park. This turned into quite the adventure. The price to ride Trax from downtown to the U of U campus is $2.25!!! Outrageous in my book! Luckily I have a UTA pass from work, so I don't need to worry about it. No one had any $1 bills on them, and we read the machine wrong and didn't think it took anything over a $1...which didn't make sense. Anyway, so someone had to go run and get change....we used what $1's we had to start getting tickets. Then at the concert we had to buy a water so that we had change to get home! It was fun though!
The concert was a blast! He has a bunch of different musicians with him to play other instruments and give the songs a fuller sound. If you've never been to one of his conerts, I recommend it. He's so corny, but so funny. He always does his funny little things to entertain the crowd...and definitely himslef! He had his dad come up and tell jokes and then he played the harmonica. It was so cute! He was a tiny little old mad...he had a maroon sweater on and an awesome Christmas tie! So sweet!! It was very fun! Then we went back to the Kimbal and had awesome cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate....which we definitely needed because we were feeling cold air blowing on Trax...not that hot kind that you'd expect from a heater! Here are just some random pictures I took while we were "bored" on the train and waiting for it!
