Labor Day "Get Away"

Matt & I had a really fun Labor Day weekend....with one tiny set back, but more about that in a minute!

We woke up early and went and got our Bountiful Basket, then came home to put everything away and get ready. Then, we went to Ruth's Diner and got breakfast....so yummy! After that, we went to the Salt Lake LDS Temple, it was so great! Then we hurried home to finish packing up and head up to Snowbird! My grandpa has some time shares up there, and he was coming up, but not until the middle of the week, so we got to go up for 3 days!
On our way up the canyon, my car overheated! We pulled over and waited for it to cool down, and then decided to go back down the mountain to see if we could make it to our house to get the other car...it took about a minute for it to overheat again, so we pulled over again. We had to call a tow truck, so after we got that taken care of and Matt's dad so VERY KINDLY came to get us from the repair shop to take us to our house, we packed up Matt's car and made our way back up!
We decided that we weren't going to let the car issues ruin the awesome day we had been having, and the relaxing awesome weekend that we were looking forward to! We did have to go back down on Sunday for church because we hadn't been able to find a sub for our nursery class, but it's really not too far from our house, so it all worked out. We had a lot of fun! We watched movies, went hot tubbing, "hiking", zip line, road the tram, road down the mountain on the chair lift, and ate at Oktoberfest!
Waiting in line for the zip line...we got a little bored with the wait...

Waiting to get on the tram!

Matt's sister Jenny came up on Labor Day to have fun at Oktoberfest with us!

The view from the top is AWESOME!

This is the Oktoberfest opening ceremonies...they do a parade and bring in a keg....and then they pass it out to all the parade members...see the kids in the second picture??

I actually overheard a mom reassuring her kid that it was applejuice and not actually beer :)

We heard the alp horns...they were a little different than what we expected.

We had such a good time, we didn't have to worry about anything! (except the car a little bit) Thanks Grandpa Mitchell!!

What a fun weekend! That place in the fall has special memories for me. :) My blogger is messed up, my side bar doesn't update as often as friends blog. I am just seeing this now. Hmmm. Weird. Anyways. Love you!
